What is a Gum Abscess

This usually happens when you have pus in your gums but not in the bone, this is know as periodontal abscess. Periodontal is a sever gum decease and is second on the list of dental emergencies, if you have a gum abscess you need to get it treated immediately.

This inflammation will slowly spread in different parts of the supporting structure of the teeth, This abscess on gum will slowly destroy the bone and tissue around the teeth. This distraction will leave small pockets of spaces , which will encourage food particles to accumulate forming plaque and tartar, this becomes a perfect place for bacteria to live and may cause infections.

Gum Abscess should not be taken lightly, unlike a toothache you cant feel much pain when the infection is setting in. To completely get rid of the abscess they will thoroughly clean the canal system in the tooth. If this is not done properly your gum abscess will reoccur

You have to keep your mouth clean brush your teeth in the morning and night, use dental floss if you have to , use mouth wash, you need to keep the bacteria in the form of plaque and tartar away these are the main catalyst for your gum abscess. So the key is to maintain proper oral hygiene

Regular visits to the dentist can help control gum and toot infections, regular dental cleaning of plaque and tartar will keep you gums health and strong
